The Sandy Butler celebrates “A Taste of Chile” at monthly wine dinner

Sept. 30 dinner features special three-course menu paired with fine, regional wines

The Sandy Butler will host an evening of fresh, fine gourmet at an elegant Chilean Wine Dinner on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. The dinner will feature three specially crafted courses prepared by Chef Michael Ragusa, paired with fine Chilean wines.

In celebration of the Chilean food and wine culture, the first course includes pan-seared Chilean sea bass, topped with a tropical Chilean carica fruit salsa on a bed of mint and lime infused couscous, paired with a 2008 Vina Requinagua Chardonnay from Curico Valley, Chile. For the second course, guests will enjoy a slow roasted herb pork belly with root vegetables, paired with a 2007 Vina Requinagua Carmenere Reserve from Curico Valley, Chile. The third course features coconut shell banana crème brulee, paired with a 2007 Late Harvest Dessert Wine from Chile.

“Chileans celebrate their independence in the month of September, so it’s only fitting that this month’s wine dinner features fine, fresh Chilean cuisine,” said Jason Nelson, The Sandy Butler general manager. “Chilean wines are gaining popularity in the United States and our dinner will feature a nice sampling of some of the region’s finest wines. The wines are also available in our market, where we feature a wide variety of affordably priced, boutique wines that can be hard to find.”

The price for the three course dinner and wine pairings is $50 per person. For reservations, call 239-482-6765.
